Aniimo Prismana Guide: Storms, Light Types & the Rarest Variants
The rarest chase in the game — storm triggers, one-per-zone limits, Light sub-types, Umbrabows and how not to waste a storm.
Prismana Aniimo are the rarest chase in the regular game: mutated variants that always carry the Light element as an added type, with distinctive prismatic coloring. They do not spawn by luck alone — the system runs on storms, energy gauges and one-per-zone limits that make every Prismana encounter count.
The four Prismana rules
- Storm-gated: Prismana variants only appear during a Prismana storm in the zone
- One per zone: each zone gets exactly one Prismana per storm
- No respawn: if the Prismana is defeated or captured, it does not come back — you must trigger a new storm
- Light sub-type: every Prismana gains the Light element, changing its matchups — check the type chart before the fight, because your old counters may now hit for different damage
How to trigger a Prismana storm
Method 1: Nurture the ecosystem
Complete waves of Nurtures in the zone until the Prismana energy gauge is full. Since version 1.1, every nurturing grants a fixed amount of energy and the base chance of triggering Prismana flow is flat — no more early-game probability decay — with a guarantee system still in place.
Method 2: Force it at the Branch
Change the weather at the Branch using a meteorological stone, which can directly set up storm conditions. Costs Prismana Crystals and the region badge — full unlock chain in our weather guide.
Bonus: Lucky strikes
Catching has a chance to trigger a lucky strike, which can directly trigger Prismana Flow and attract a Prismana to your area — see the catching guide.
Prismana vs Umbral vs weather forms
Three different rarity systems get confused constantly. The clean split:
| Variant | How it appears | Special trait |
|---|---|---|
| Prismana | Only during Prismana storms; one per zone | Added Light element |
| Umbral | Chance during Wild Surges (and rare open-world chance) | Perfect Potential plus distinctive coloration |
| Weather forms | Only under specific weather, on real-time schedules | Form change only — no stat guarantee |
Umbral Aniimo deserve special attention for team builders: Perfect Potential means they start at the stat ceiling, which is why Wild Surge hunting is part of the serious endgame loop in our Bloom & Nurture guide.
Umbrabows: the collector tier
Umbrabows sit above everything else — a sub-category related to Prismana that currently has exactly one acquisition path: hatch exclusive eggs from Operation: Egg Heist, the extraction mode. They do not spawn in the open world, so do not burn storms hunting them; the whole Egg Heist route (including its high-drop-rate Chaos Mode) is covered in our Egg Heist guide.

FAQ
What are Prismana Aniimo?
Prismana Aniimo are rare mutated variants that always gain the Light element as an added type. They only appear during Prismana storms, there is one per zone per storm, and they do not respawn after being caught or defeated — you have to trigger a new storm.
How do you trigger a Prismana storm?
Two ways: nurture the zone's ecosystem until the Prismana energy gauge fills (each nurturing grants fixed energy since version 1.1, with a flat trigger chance and a guarantee system), or force storm weather at the Branch with a meteorological stone. Lucky strikes during catching can also directly trigger Prismana Flow.
What is the difference between Prismana and Umbral Aniimo?
Prismana are Light sub-typed storm spawns with a one-per-zone limit. Umbral Aniimo appear by chance during Wild Surges or in the open world, and come with Perfect Potential and distinctive coloration — a stat guarantee rather than an element change.
How do you get Umbrabows?
Umbrabows currently only come from hatching exclusive eggs obtained in Operation: Egg Heist, the extraction mode. They do not spawn in the open world, and the Egg Heist Chaos Mode has significantly higher drop rates for the eggs.
